Re: "Web 2.0" update bug reports
Had an instance where trying to go to the Board Index or other pages was met with Chrome's "This website is not secure!" and would refuse to let me proceed. The warning said something about "unusual/incorrect credentials" (probably doesn't recognise our VPS) but everything seems fine now. Maybe it just took a minute for https to kick in.
EDIT: It happened again. The warning states "proceed with caution" but doesn't offer me any way to do so.

Sorry about that, it should be working now. The web server was missing an intermediate certificate.

I dig the new layout. Haven't had any problems browsing around on it here. Yet.

The chat feature reverts into a desktop resolution when using mobile.

Is there an IRC client/app available for phones? You could probably connect to the NightOps IRC through that.

Yeah, there is although I’d rather stay on here and just bite the bullet.

Unfortunately that's the intended behavior, Kiwi doesn't have very good mobile support. For chat on mobile, you'd be better off with an IRC app. The Library has the information you'll need to connect: https://nightops.net/wiki/doku.php?id=nonet_chat

Re: "Web 2.0" update bug reports
In my experience, videos don’t play properly on mobile. If I’d guess what the problem is, i’d say that either the browser I’m using doesn’t properly embed the video or the mobile version doesn’t embed properly.
Take that with a grain of salt though, idk what I’m talking about.

Re: "Web 2.0" update bug reports
Yeah, that doesn't seem to be a NO-specific problem. At least when playing raw video files like .webm or .mp4, but Youtube seems to be compatible with mobile devices.

Oh well, I just thought it was worth posting. Hopefully something gets done about it, because it seems out of our hands.

Can you post a link to a video that doesn't work, and say what mobile browser you're using?Spooky Alien wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 7:39 amIn my experience, videos don’t play properly on mobile. I’m using safari, I tried watching a couple of other videos, some of the op ones but they didn’t work either.

Re: "Web 2.0" update bug reports
From what I can find online, HTML5 video should work, but safari is really picky about how the video files are served. So, maybe there's a change we can make on the server side to fix it. I don't have an iDevice to test with, but let me try some stuff and get back to you.

Re: "Web 2.0" update bug reports
Is it dependent on the filetype? Maybe you can watch .mp4 but not .webm files?
Also, the Chat Lounge wasn't loading properly for me a couple of days ago. I thought it was a temporary problem but it's still not loading for me:

Re: "Web 2.0" update bug reports
I'd say that that isn't a bad guess. .mp4 is a pretty widespread standard and while .webm is nice and all, I don't think it is as popular.
I'm getting the same error as well, it's not just you.

Re: "Web 2.0" update bug reports
What I was reading about was a specific type of HTTP request (RANGE) that had to be implemented by the web server in order for safari to allow the video to be played. I was going to check if our http server supports that or if it's turned off or something.
Chat doesn't work because I'm a dope and didn't update the URL when I switched the new server to take over the nightops.net domain. It was pointing to the testing domain still, which no longer has a valid SSL cert as of the 6th. It's fixed now.
EDIT: nvm, our http server supports byte-ranged requests. So I dunno. Can you watch the video if you open the file directly, like this? https://nightops.net/wiki/lib/exe/fetch ... op_op.webm

No, i cannot watch directly from the file, it just redirects me to somewhere to download it, like dropbox.Secant wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 12:39 amEDIT: nvm, our http server supports byte-ranged requests. Re: "Web 2.0" update bug reports
Ok. Can you try these and see if either plays as you'd expect? I want to find out if it's something that affects the whole site, or if it's just dokuwiki.

The first link also asks me to download to dropbox like previously. Fortunately, the second link is watchable.Secant wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 2:14 amOk. It plays the mp4 file eh? Hmm... need to do some research.
