Window trouble?

Post by quad » Thu Nov 11, 2010 10:27 pm

hey everybody, i looked around but couldnt really find anything useful. so here we go. to op at night i have to climb through a basement window thats about eye level. i have to shimmy myself through the window diagonaly to fit my shoulders. basically, a basketball cant fit through this window. but when i go through it, i always make one hell of a racket. any tips on quieting this will be GREATLY appreciated.

haha yeah i wasnt really expecting some big secret, and i found slowing down to the point where it takes like 3 or 4 minutes to get out instead of 30 seconds makes a big difference. who woulda thought that?

maybe have a rope or something to assist you?
and you can find what makes most of the noise and try to eliminate it.

Or if it's a big enough problem, just find a new way in.

Exactly. Practice in the daytime so you don't have to worry about noise. I've seen parkour videos where guys jump up, grab the ceiling, and slide through windows like that feet first without a sound. Freakin' amazing...

You might have the best luck building up a platform and shimmying through facing upward. This usually allows for a quieter entry but your platform will have to be high enough to push off of with your foot even as you're half-way through.
Knowledge alone is not power, it is the potential for power. That potential can only be unlocked through applying that knowledge and realizing the skill.

first things first thanks for all the ideas but i think i have the problem dialed.. i was kicking with my legs to try to squeeze through the window. when i just pull with my arms its a lot less noisy.
