computer problems

ok my computer has professinal xp and everytime i try to turn it on it asks me for a password and i forgot it what can i do?

and how do i wipe its hard drive i have the disk and everything for it i just dont know what to do with it and how to wipe it or bypass the password? please help me

I had the same problem, the only way is to delete the harddrive and start again, if you call customer service theyll walk you through it. Other than that I was told theres noway to get back into the computer without the password or wiping it.

Try looking online for password recovery stuff. You might find some free stuff.

1.boot a linux live cd and get all of the info off of the drive.
2.wipe drive
3.install any OS
4.???
5.Profit

It's not all that difficult actually, when the computer boots, you'll allmost allways get a Motherboard screen, from that screen, you can access the BIOS, from there, just format C and you're done. It differs per computer wich button that is, mostly a function button or Del or End. Just pay attention to the motherboard screen and you'll know what to do.

You can't format from the BIOS... learn what you're talking about before telling him to do stuff...

Worked for me, or it was Setup, anyway, one of the menu's on the motherboard screen, completely positive on that one.
