Jamming IP cameras

Post by HouseEater47 » Mon Apr 10, 2023 8:51 pm

IP cameras are cameras that are connected to the internet. Most higher up security companies will also incorporate both a cellular and battery backup in case the internet stopped connecting. Most of these IP cameras will have motion detection using video panning or Passive Infared. The administrator can receive cell alerts on their phone or simply have the motion Event put aside for later viewing. Most will be distiunguishable by a blue light on the side of the camera. The blue light indicates the internet connection is online.

These cameras usually store footage for a whole year, sometimes more and they document faces persons of interest, and have a foot traffic timeline.

They are state of the art, they cost alot(sabotage worthy) and are invading our way of life.

They are the best of the best, an alarm system, AI investigator, and video recorder all in one. High image resolution too so if you look up without a mask, your fucked.

Jamming them will likely be detected but I think its the most convenient way of avoiding immediate detection(motion detection) You could also cut the Ethernet cable from behind without triggering motion but this is too complicated. (hole in the wall, roof) Besides that, the cellular and battery backup will still be online so you will have to jam the radio waves and dismember the camera(some cost as many as 1500$)

Jammers arent cheap, but you can buy them online if you can set aside some money.

What I meant previously by jam detection is that the admin or those with shared accounts will likely receive a notification on their cell phone that the radio frequencies are being tampered with. The great thing about jam notifications are that most people have very little technical know how of much in the field of security and how a lot of things operate. SO, they will very much be confused and arent going to immediately call the police. Instead, they may check other cameras and try to get a grip on what the shit is going on. Meanwhile, you are already in a camera free zone.

Thank the Jam gods for signal jammers. Keep sneaking...

There are different types of jammers out there (radio, wi-fi, GPS, cellular, etc). Do these cameras work on different frequencies? How do you know which jammer to buy?

Also they're prohibited here, so might be worth looking into how to build one.
We are all books containing thousands of pages and within each lies an irreparable truth.

Some might work on 2.4ghz and others might go to a different frequency. Whats good though is that most internet and radio frequencies are publicized and most, if not all companies will operate on a simular frequency.

Frequency hopping is a great innovation by security companies. If jamming is detected, the (camera, alarm, or device) will "hop" to another wave to continue operating.
Which limits jamming capabilities. Unless perhaps you could jam all available public broadband frequencies at once :)

Making jammers is definitely doable if you get into electronics and hardware hacking. Im not to much now, but maybe my interest will give in.

I value the usefulness of no tech hacking and stealth for infiltration and operations but sometimes when the industry throws nothing but technology and physical security at you, you have to give them a simular treatment. While looking over your shoulder of course. Beware of police drones with thermal imaging. Constantly debug the sky.

As for jammer availability, there are many websites that allow you to purchase jammers and have them shipped. Would definitely not give any personal data to them and order in a location that you are not living in and pick it up at the delivery time.

Defeated with a black sheet and glue + slap sticker roll.

Just be disguised and have an exit plan. If these are your problem you failed at recon.
