This is a technique commonly used by Navy Seals and other special forces units

Box Breathing
divide your breathing into four steps

4 Steps

1
  • Inhale slowly through your nose while counting to four
  • Concentrate on filling your lungs and abdomen with air
  • Let your body feel the air as it's filling your lungs
  • Exhale
2
  • Take a deep breath
  • Hold your breath and count to four again
3
  • Exhale slowly through your mouth while counting to four
  • Concentrate on getting all the air out of your lungs at once
4
  • Take a deep breath
  • Hold your breath and mentally count to four again
  • Exhale

Go through the process as many times as necessary

Navy Seals will normally do this for up to five minutes

Useful in the field and during day to day life for wellness

Helps regulate heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature

Relaxes the body and helps deactivate the fight or flight response

Heightens cognitive performance
Improvement to thinking/reasoning
Improved concentration
Clears the mind
Helps manage impulsive behaviour

Go out and practice after dark in a field or on a rooftop
It's the nature of this beast to feed upon the will to numb it, this monster brought the seed of life, well now i have become it.
