I am in need of some advise on how best to eliminate (or reduce) the ratting sound from the zippers on my backpack. When I even walk theses things clang around. I thought of removing the metal and replacing with that small stretchy string stuff. I am hesitant to fuck with it in case I damage the zip tabs. Alternatively, black electrical tape could work to stop the metal on metal, but it's so hard to get it in the small gaps.
Any tips appreciated.

Re: Backpack Noise
Cut off the metal bits and replace them with paracord pulls.
Works a treat for me. If you can't get your hands on paracord, shoelaces will do just fine.

Re: Backpack Noise
Awesome advice. Noise discipline is a serious problem!
Re: Backpack Noise
I did end up cutting these tabs off and putting small paracord in them. Sooo much better.

Rubber surgical tubing, drag it over them. Clip it off. Plenty of it on ebay. I talked about this a few times. Same way they would silence dog tags.
