looking for a camera that can take decent photos in the dark, flash or no flash it does not matter to me.

Sionyx Aurora, hands down. I have the sport, I got it on sale for 200 dollars less. I recommend you wait, the different models go on sale frequently. If you really want to, you can invest into using it as an NVG too. Here is the link; https://www.sionyx.com/
