Ultra Light Armor
I have relocated, and now the area in which i op has private security armed with non-lethal weapons and deterrents. I need some suggestions on how i can keep my self protected and safe without compromising agility and speed.

I've looked at thorguard, which is a vest/clothing type that simply creates a better conductive path for the charge to use instead of your body. A crossing pattern of a thin wire (mesh) would do the trick, but be a bitch to make. Also, thorguard is sold only to police and the like, so save your time from using google to find that out. I guess ideally, that you'd not want your sweat to make a better path, so perhaps some foam backing? I'll look into this.

Just use the same tricks you used before relocating; don't get caught.

What exactly do you think you will need the armor to protect you from?

Tazers and bullets are my worries. For those who don't know I live in the U.S. in the state of Alabama, half the people Herr have guns.
Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the hell is the ceiling?

Re: Ultra Light Armor
Well, soft armor vests (kevlar) will give you some protection against low-powered rounds, like those fired from a handgun. However, step up to even intermediate cartridges like 5.56x45, or perhaps a slug out of a shotgun, and soft armor isn't going to stand up at all. For anything more than a handgun, you're going to need a plate carrier and the plates that go with it. There's a common misconception that a civilian can't own armor in the US, which isn't true. You can buy all the body armor you want. However, you get what you pay for, and plate carriers are typically very expensive.

Not to mention burdensome.

Of course they are. But if i had to choose, i'd much rather carry a few extra pounds of ceramic than an extra ounce of lead.
Actually, scratch that. I'd rather carry neither, and just op somewhere else.

Knowledge alone is not power, it is the potential for power. That potential can only be unlocked through applying that knowledge and realizing the skill.

Re: Ultra Light Armor
I have to say dragon skin isn't exactly what would work for "ultra light" armor, though no debating it's effectiveness.

Re: Ultra Light Armor
It's much lighter than conventional carriers and plates though that would be required to stop the threats he's expecting to encounter. And the flexibility lends to a less bulky feel which is of obvious benefit to the operative.

Re: Ultra Light Armor
Well if you absolutely must have armor then I would definitely suggest using Dragon Skin, there is no real reason to not have the best if you're going to buy some.
