You're still looking at the same problem as you are with most of these drugs - heart strain. Any performance enhancing drug like these is like pushing your vehicles RPMs higher than it can handle. You're faster, and for the most part better, but you're running some serious risks. That said, I could ...

Agreed. While this is an interesting topic, all natural is the safest and best long term option. There are no side effects for not taking drugs, and gaining is only a matter of exercising regularly. Caffeine for example is a strength enhancer and increases your sensitivity. Which is great, but you f...

The Archives are Now Available.

All users should now be able to see "The Archives", which is locked but will house archives of topics, and has a sticky leading to the the last incarnation of nightops.net. I'd wager it went back even farther, back when a "caveman" or primitive equivalent couldn't get his own food so he "opped" someone else's home and took theirs.

A History of Night Ops

I thought this might be of interest to anyone who used to be in the night ops scene, still is in the scene, or might be planning to get into it. A History of Night Ops In 2003, a user named Infrared created a thread entitled "nighttime ops (new guy)." He explained his hobby of sneaking into semi-occ...

I'm pretty sure it's a lot easier to notice a big glowing fire than a shadowy figure picking a lock. A lot of people are underestimating the technique, if you get good at it, you can pick a lock of common locks under a minute, easily. I'd say more like under 30 seconds with a good rake, and that's i...

I think most of us came from &T, it's easy to find. I remember a long, long time ago when I found it I thought it was all badass and whatnot haha.
Then I discovered the ACB was full of shit, Santa wasn't real, and &T lost it's magic. Except the Night Ops threads, of course.

Improvised Gear

Figured this could be fun to get some creativity going. Post how to make gear from basically nothing or common objects which can be used to improvise. Plastic Cards These can be membership cards, ID cards, credit cards, or anything laminated. Cards are probably the best object to shim open inward sw...

we need more members. WHy have ties with totse been cut? I think we need to reintroduce night ops with totse... Tell you what, since you suggested the idea, make a new topic on &TOTSE and watch what happens there. That's what I'm talking about. &TOTSE, of all places, thinks it's a joke. That doesn'...

Instability, aging regular members, cut ties with TOTSE. Basically a shitty situation for night ops. By all means let anyone know about the site if you think they might be interested in it. Right now it's probably the slowest it's been since it's creation (excluding downtime) but I think it'll get b...

If you take a close look at mine in the Gear Pics! thread, you'll notice the tip of mine is snapped off. That happened while chiselling away at some material, which my Ka-Bar would have stood up to. Cold Steel knives would have fared even better. Another crappy thing about it is the velcro on the sh...

Forget that crap. Get the cotton kind with the completely rubberized palms/underfingers. They're also textured, and from my experience doing some work on metal roofing awhile back, they grip great. They also aren't going to leave your hands smelling like puke at the end of a long operation. They're ...

Headlamps are pretty fucking awesome on black ops for indoor situations. When you know your light cannot escape, you can just flip them on and start working on whatever with both hands. For that same price or less though, you can usually find headlamps with white and red modes, along with spot and f...

Kinda drifting more into technique here, but any light can be tamed by shining it through the cracks between your fingers, thus regulating the light. This is especially useful since onlookers won't be able to see light coming from the flashlight itself, but only it's illuminated target. That said, S...

A lot of people actually prefer LESS output than a maglite offers, utilizing single LED designs. Some, like me, even prefer white light to distinguish colors - which can be important in some situations - merely keeping one eye closed while the light is on to preserve night vision.

While I'm not a big fan of dagger designs, I agree that on 99% of my operations, I prefer a cheap but reliable knife. I happen to use a $10 Fury most of the time that's basically a big slab of stainless steel, full tang, drop point, and essentially has all the qualities of a good operations knife. S...
