Re: About masks
I like using a shemagh or sniper veil because you can control the eye slit exposure a lot more than a typical balaclava with a fixed eye hole. You can adjust "exposure", as it were.

I've never been stopped once for carrying a knife - and I carry one with me always. Heck, today at work I had to use my karambit 3 times - 2 of those times people specifically asked for me to use my knife.

Unorthodox way of opening locks
Don't know how practical it is to do on a night op, but thought it'd be interesting to share nonetheless.

How many people here actually use Telegram? The main problem Karl was bringing up in the video I linked was that, despite all the shit Youtube is pulling on its content creators, that's unfortunately where all the viewers are.

Wearing shoes with hard but smooth soles with minimal treads. If you can't find shoes like that, you can sand down existing soles to the point they're a bit more smooth and less likely to catch debris. You may lose a bit of grip, but everything's a compromise.

The old-fashioned way, basically. Check if there's a car in the driveway, if there's a light on inside, then check the windows CAREFULLY. Other than some kind of high-tech thermal imaging gear, you're gonna have to play it by ear.

There is the phenomenon of 'veteran's paranoia' that plagues some of us from time to time: the crippling feeling that you're going to get caught and arrested/killed. That's the closest I can think of.
Re: Drugs?
As far as using "drugs" on ops is concerned, I wouldn't recommend it. It's best to approach every op as sober as possible.

The idea behind the ideal op is to leave no trace behind. Nobody will notice if there's nothing to notice.

The hoodie specifically? Not a clue. Can you reverse-image search it in Google to try and find sources?
Got a similar hoodie I wore on my last Dare op made by Pave Hawk, maybe they have something. They're currently having a sale on a bunch of gear too.

Re: Energy
Yeah, I tend to prefer meditation over caffeine/energy supplements before an op. Cool heads always come out on top, and on an op you need to be cool as a cucumber.
Re: I'm new
Whatever targets are easiest in your area. Start by just going out for walks at night and get a feel for things, go off the beaten track (maybe through a park or alleyway) and see what opportunities present themselves. Things look a lot different at night than during the day.

Hey Rox, long time no see! Starting with a bit of UrbEx is always a good approach - low risk but interesting. You can amp it up by trying to break into a school or other wide, semi-public venue, even if you don't get into any actual buildings. Get them used to moving surreptitiously and showing them...

Even if they're not registered to you, most phones have GPS devices in them anyway, meaning authorities can still trace them straight back to you if you bring them home. I never carry anything traceable with me on ops as a given rule.
