I'm a boots guy, prefer the ankle support and relative protection they offer.

That said, I can only really think of circumstances with wet leaves.. and they don't generally present that much of a problem to me.

Coincidentaly the same time as Xanatos is my ideal time really.

Its a pretty good question actually, I can't think of any real reason behind it. Often though, the guy I explore with travels a fair distance, so I'll meet him in the evening - grab some food and do a quick recce; then come back later.

MOLLE based systems are definitely the way to go.

Modular ones are perfect for adapting to whatever location you're aiming for. Just can be damn pricey..
