Re: What do you guys do the day before an op?
I used to drink a big mug of sweet tea ages ago. I really don't do much these days, just keep myself busy until a few minutes before I want to leave. Read, listen to music, write, work on something, whatever works.
Re: Pop-Its
In addition, those things are somewhat unreliable. Since they don't weigh much it's hard to throw them a significant distance away, and there's no guarantee that they'll actually pop even on a hard surface. If they land on a soft surface you just wasted one. They would also need to be kept in a spec...

He answered me that what I was doing had no point, because 2 kids walking at the night wasn't THAT suspicious and uncommon... When I hear this, all I can think is that the "operative" isn't actually doing an operation. They are walking down the street and maybe, just maybe, they'll go into some are...

The Value of Stealth
When night ops first came into being, the concept was that you were never seen and you never left a trace. This was done primarily for the challenge, remaining completely unseen being the most difficult part of the entire operation in many areas. Today, both experience and common sense suggests this...

I highly recommend carpet sandals for any tasks which may involve entering a building after being out in the rain. Not only is it a matter of loud footsteps, but also because you're very likely to get mud on your footwear and track it into the building. Whether for sport or for insurance, it's best ...

I try whenever possible to hang and drop for the sake of stealth, but on the run I would certainly focus on the forward roll and it's more natural to me personally. It's pretty amazing what the human body is capable of with the right technique applied.

Re: Open Source Technology: Canine Defeat
If you do ANY sort of Physical attack on a dog, it will yelp, unless your initials are JR. I think this is the biggest issue that's being overlooked. Not only is this the case, but a dog yelping will draw infinitely more attention than a dog barking. When the dog yelps, the owner will know without ...

I'm always out in full camo and gear so I'm forced to rely purely on stealth instead of social engineering. Don't keep a kit in one place for it all to be discovered at once. Keep a flashlight near your nightstand, a multitool or knife on a shelf, camo/black clothes at the bottom of the dresser drawers, masks with winter gear, etc. It shouldn't take an excessive amount of time to get everything ready sinc...

The skin tone idea is very true, although it applies more to general camouflage than silhouette. Still, for anybody serious about going in full camo it's a pretty silly idea to leave the head and neck uncovered. I've always taken it for granted since I wear a balaclava or ski mask that leaves only a...

A lot of that comes from Rogue Sci and it's FTP, which are now gone. I recommend anyone interested in pretty much anything "fringe" to download this if you've got the room to spare. There will likely come a day before you die where this information is EXTREMELY difficult to acquire.

Do you have drill presses or any machining tools at your disposal? Even a dremel.
They make brass curtain hangers that can be worn as rings and have prongs coming off of them. With some shaping, those would work.

Psychlonic, what would you think of having someone take your italicized phrases and string them together/format them somehow to form an "operative's creed" of sorts?
