Re: Knife "fighting"
As someone with a small amount of experience in this area, I'm a big fan of this guy's outlook. It even suggests Don Pentacost's book on knife techniques from Folsom prison. I'll echo that suggestion again here, for anyone who is interested in learning about "real" knife fighting. I think the most i...

Re: Augmented reality Night Ops game
I absolutely love this idea. My only question is how familiar are you with the skills of night opping itself? I am quite positive a few of us could come up with a comprehensive list of skills and create branches that increase in difficulty to show how well the oppers are growing. I guess in the end...

I'm not familiar with Ingress, but the idea sounds very interesting. I'll download it and give it a shot. When did you become interested in stealth?
Title says it all. I'm curious to see how many people started sneaking around before they started opping, and how many people started because they found out about opping. Re: hello
It really is something you won't find anywhere else on the internet. We used to get a good number of people from Zoklet, which is only natural, seeing as that's where the majority of people from Totse ended up, and Totse is where "night ops" began.

I was thinking this would be closer to a unit patch, some of which are pretty elaborate. If more people would rather see the knife go, i'd be willing to get rid of it. For your camo, it really depends on what kind of environment you're going to be opping in. Most likely, the white will just help to break up your form, but there are certainly areas i can think of where white flecks on your camo would be more of a disadvantage than an advantage. I wouldn't worry abo...

Re: Night Ops patches
I tried one with a tension wrench, but it just didn't look quite right. Same way with a flashlight - it just didn't seem like it would translate very well to a patch. So I ended up using two lockpicks instead. I figured that a hook and a c-rake best symbolized the duality of opping. One is used "har...

I've been talking to a number of members here, and there seems to be a lot of interest in getting an "official" night ops patch. I'm gonna have to agree with Xanatos on this one. Training great, but it needs to be a separate activity from the real thing. Frankly, this is the exact reason why I ALWAYS wear full gear while i'm out opping. If I don't have access to full gear, I will not op. When you're wearing a mask, all you need to do when you're spotted is escape, hide, and then lay off the area until things cool down. Yes, seeing a guy in full ninj...

Well, soft armor vests (kevlar) will give you some protection against low-powered rounds, like those fired from a handgun. However, step up to even intermediate cartridges like 5.56x45, or perhaps a slug out of a shotgun, and soft armor isn't going to stand up at all. For anything more than a handgu...

Well, this can be a touchy subject, because everyone seems to have different ideas about what works best where. Here are some facts to start things off. Camo obscures your form/outline better than solids, but the colors can look out of place in urban or indoor environments. The opposite is also true...
