So how much paracord would be required to get an average person safely up or down a short distance, say roughly 40 or 50 feet? Perhaps a braid of three strands?

Re: Sliding Door Improvised Jam
This doesn't work 100% of the time, but depending upon how smart the homeowner/builder was you may have some success. When a sliding glass door is installed, it's essentially lifted up, the top is pushed into the door frame at a slight angle, and then the bottom is set into the track. For this to be...

Another vote for learning some basic self defense skills. If you choose to carry a weapon, make sure you invest the time into learning how to use it, and then practice enough to stay proficient. Just carrying a knife or a baton isn't enough, because an experienced fighter will likely just disarm you...

It depends, but for us you're guaranteed to get to e5 provided you complete all tasks assigned to you, do all your training stuff, and successfully pass your CDCs. After that, promotions basically become a "who can suck the best cock" contest. Combine that with the fact that most SNCOs aren't just d...

Unfortunately, there's a ton of stuff we need to get done in order to be eligible. We actually have a few dirtbags who've been holding down e-3 spots for close to four years now, believe it or not. There are a couple methods i'd use before trying to infiltrate a possibly occupied house, depending upon what state you live in that could be a good way to take a load of 00 buckshot to the face. One of the easier methods involves a little social engineering. Take the least threatening member of you...

Lately i've been spending a lot of time on firearms - my AR, while nice, needs a fair bit of work to get it set up the way i ultimately want it. On top of that, i just picked up a few needed accessories for my 700p, so i can continue working on the basics of long range shooting. I guess i'm a little...

I've been wondering what night ops thinks about SHTF scenarios? Is this something you've prepared for with cached food/supplies, or by getting a bug out bag together? Or is it something you don't really care much for? To clarify, i don't mean a zombie apocalypse, just any emergency that would create...

That makes sense with Announcements and Suggestions. The only reason i would argue against moving gear in with another forum is because it's usually pretty active by itself, and ideally all of the forums in that section will get equal amounts of posting/traffic. Looks excellent. The only thing i think we could improve upon would be the way in which we condense the forums, which is a relatively minor issue. I've only ever used close friends for opping, and even then obviously not all of them have been suited to it. But trust is paramount, like The Atomic Fishy stated. Like any skill of dexterity, once you learn you need to keep practicing every so often or you get rusty and it takes longer to open a lock. Quoted for truth. It's a high-energy powder. Burns sort of similar to thermite if you condense it and then touch an electrical charge to it.

If you're going to carry something that looks like a firearm, you might as well just man up and bring a real one. At least that could actually save you from an attacker or a wild animal. Seems to me like you'd be better off using dog food laced with sedatives rather than a tranquilizer. The food - you can throw/set/plant where to need it to be and then forget about it. Dark Kaiser is/was a fairly prominent opper, and he used the traditional ninja gear as well. +1 for style points and comfortability/ease of movement, but -1 for lack of pockets.
