Re: Suddenly. Dry leaves. Billions of them. Everywhere.
I found a wiki how article that well explained some possible solutions to make movements easier. I kind of have myself a soution now, anyone else with this problem or anyone who may have it can read this. When the ground with leaves or twigs, etc, makes absolute silence impossible, move in small, er...

Suddenly. Dry leaves. Billions of them. Everywhere.
Trying to walk silently through a blanket of dry leaves almost a foot thick is an all out bitch. And this is my current conundrum. I have only on rare occasions had to deal with this problem before, and my previous excursion that included dry leaves was back during my Cemetery and Church op. However...

Re: Razor Wire
I like the just crawl under the fence idea. I ran an op a while back that involved a fence topped with barbed wire. We went up to where it was attached to a support poll, removed the thin metal wires holding it fast, lifted it up a bit, and went under. Went completely painless. It's easy because if ...

Welcome to the clan!
We're glad you decided to join up with us. Seeing new faces is always good and around here it's even better since it's been pretty quiet around here for a while.
Hope you stick with us.

Re: Drop leg platform
My favorite equipment would obviously come from Opsgear, the place where good quality is born and raised. My favorite leg rig thus far is as follows: http://www.opsgear.com/index/page/product/product_id/1758/category_id/178/category_chain/38,178/product_name/MOLLE+Utility+Leg+Rig Take a look at the ...

Everyone's talking about the nude op idea! I was going over plans to do that very thing not to long ago.
Damnit I need to start posting these ideas when I come up with them...

Re: This sent a chill down my spine (SOPA related)
I did send a letter to Congress. Along with over 3,000,000 other Americans. SOPA/PIPA was put down here in the U.S. long before the House and Senate even voted on them. Popular internet giants like Wikipedia, Mozilla, Reddit, Google, and Facebook voiced opposition for the bills. Some of them actuall...

Re: SHTF / TEOTWAWKI
Poll not functioning for me. I chose option two as well. SHTF/TEOTWAWKI is something I have put time and energy into, but I know this is not something you would ideally do by yourself. The suburban area I live in is relatively small and any mass panic would die down in about a week to a week and a h...

I study Theoretical Physics and Biology and am currently contemplating a career as an astronomer/astrophysicist. My aspirations are to go for a Ph.D, and attempt one in Biology and other life sciences. I've been seeing about any openings within the ICR (Institute for Creation Research) and any possi...

Re: pants needed
Given your two options, I would definitely go Subdued Urban. The only real woodland digital is marine digital, which is also one of my favorites. I favor digital because it's ability to break up a silhouette is almost unprecedented by other patterns or schemes. One of my opping partners has a pair o...

It's probably to late to reply to this. By now Therin probably has his pants and much more. But who cares about that? lol Anyone interested in camouflage to use at night should take a look at dark Navy Digital and Tiger Stripes. Primarily the pants. I personally don't normally wear matching tops and...

Re: Sliding Door Improvised Jam
The dog's tied in the backyard. He barks at me, but he's more accustomed to Lucian. He'll still bark, but Lucian is able to walk up and safely pet him. Not so much myself.

Re: The Uses of Paracord - Safety and Really Awesome Uses
(TL;DR Get off your fucking lazy ass and read) I figured I should inject myself into this conversation since Lucian is my partner. I want to start by first saying that the "550" is the rope's tensile strength in pounds, that is, the maximum amount of weight that can be exerted on the cordage before ...

Re: Sliding Door Improvised Jam
Sounds good, I get the basics of what your saying. As a matter of fact, I think I did that by accident when I was looking at it. I could lift up the top left corner about an inch and a half maybe. I'll try that next time I take a trip to the house.

Sliding Door Improvised Jam
Okay, on most of my ops I very rarely have to deal with sliding glass doors. And anybody who has had experience with them will testify that they are some of the easiest to work with, given there is no squeaking. The problem arose today when me and a partner were scouting an empty house. The safest a...

Re: Distractions
First of all you have to decide whether or not he person has already detected you. If they simply hear or suspect something, but have not visually confirmed your presence, you'd be better off backing away to better location quietly. If the person in question has seen your body, not just your silhoue...

Re: How to tell if something is abandoned?
My advice would be to treat this as a potential combat op. Despite what it implies, it's a term I made myself to describe an op where there is an above average chance of having to protect one's self. I've ran a couple of those before, and actually had to fight a handful of times, and they were simil...

Re: Rough area
I would have to agree with Lucian here. If you plan to run an op into a dangerous area such as the one you described above, then you should be prepared and willing to protect yourself, possibly through force if escape is not an option. Obviously, as an opper, your main priority will be to break cont...

Thanks for the timely reply guys. Yeah, I noticed this isn't the type of place one would want to advertise. It's good that this place is underground yet has the amount of members it has. I may drop Secant a letter inquiring about my username, I really don't want to go through the trouble of creating...

Hello all, I'm Neurotic Anomaly (even though I've mistakenly misspelled my name.) I discovered Night Ops.net about three days ago during a Google search for various camouflages in low light environments. After reading this board I was enthralled by the fact that there was an entire organized communi...
