Re: Footprints

Gel shoe protectors are an interesting idea Kenlee, I didn't think of that. I wonder if they also make foot steps quieter, and how they affect traction. That also makes me think of the boot baggies which contractors wear as they come inside a client's home, to avoid tracking mud in. These must be ba...

Re: Movies

Great list, thanks Xanatos. I agree with many of those and look forward to exploring others.

I'd also add The Americans TV series to this, as one filled with spycraft in every episode. Some at state level rarely relevant to most night ops, but many stealth skills are portrayed in practice.

Re: Spartan Lifestyle

As Xanatos said never stop learning and adapting. Life is an iterative process, in the moments and the big picture. What seems like the way and the goal now may change as conditions evolve. Adapt and find success in natural succession. That said many of these skills are interrelated and also have un...

Movies

Got any favorite stealth / night ops related movies?

In the vigilante thread, "Gordon's War" (1973) was mentioned.

Batman series also seems relevant.

Ghost Dog is one of my favorites.

Robin Hood varieties also come to mind.

Footprints

Any go-to resources about all things tracks and footprints? Important thing to understand for stealth. I saw info about it in Psychlonic's Way of the Shadow. I'm looking for highlights from that, personal favorites, and additional resources. Walking in forests of different textures has been a challe...

Re: COVID-19 and opping?

How might stealth help you, if at all, in local or global crises that threaten safety and other basic needs?

Alibi with no lie

Much of what has been said and written about alibi establishment in the context of stealth relies on lies. Since stealth involves deception and discretion that makes sense, a false alibi after all is by definition false. But even better than lies, even white lies, are truths that reveal carefully. R...

How to test visibility? & Practices to develop IRL stealth meter

One of the most disconcerting parts of ops is uncertainty about concealment and what is known of one's own presence. Have I been spotted? How visible am I? Wondering with only moments to consider: is this position more concealed, or is this position more concealed? At a most basic level this questio...

Greetings and quest i on about honor

Found this forum from stealth techniques video channel while searching for training in that very topic. Relevant background is in martial arts and bushcraft, a joy of home and urban-suburban sneaking since childhood (though it is a bittersweet need), and phases of computer and info security interest...

Re: Decreasing activity

I find it difficult to connect with good stealth content online - where is it and how to find it? I guess it makes sense it is mostly hard to find. I found this site embedded in Stealth Techniques training videos while searching for, aptly named, stealth techniques. I think it makes sense to adverti...
