I'm planning on getting my friend(s) into night ops, but I feel like I owe him a true explanation of what it IS. Any ideas? A video or something would be preferable, but I don't want it to be too long, so it's more to the point. I don't plan on trespassing much, especially at first; just exploring s...

How in the heck do you op in jeans? That hasn't ever worked out for me, I usually use some cargo sweats for flexibility/protection without losing pockets. I tie everything loose down, and boom.

So I recently have had this 'pop' I make whenever I walk/sneak. My left bigtoe and ankle both make very the distinct sound, so I tried to see if anyone else had that problem. The answer was overwhelming, basically everyone would be like "Yeah, me too!" But whenever I see doctors talk about it they b...

Actually, I never know how to carry lockpicks. Sometimes they come with a pouch, but it's insecure and loose. I would just put it in my pack or pocket, but they'd snap the second I trip or do parkour. I've seen a few where they come in pocketknife form, but I hear that reduces the dexterity farther ...

It's LED, so not too powerful, but I don't want to illuminate a whole house with it.

If you put it in any normal room, it will let you see clearly enough to do whatever op stuff you do, but it will leave dark corners. I'd whole heartedly recommend it if you're going somewhere abandoned.

Re: What got you into night ops, anyway?

I've loved stealth since the idea was introduced to me by a book called "Ranger's apprentace". I hate reading SO much, it's usually boring or a waste of time. I'd rather make my own stories than read someone else's. Anyway, I gave this book a try and got bored. It's about a kid who when he turns 15 ...

Re: Unusual gears

If you want a reliable door alarm and have time/money, you could easily rewire a smoke alarm to set off when a thin cord is removed. It'll scare the daylights out of whoever opened the door (including police) and you'll hear it from across the house.

XD true. But if you can be next to invisible, that's worth trading in mobility. One of the tricks I've seen is you get essentially a cape/cloak ghillie suit that you can take off to flee, and it makes you invisible where it counts.
