Your standard 3-hole acrylic balaclava works well for the most part. Warm during the winter, breathable during the summer. Less of your face exposed to light. Unless you're black, in which case wear anything or nothing.

That's more conveniently known as a Feeler Gauge, i.e. a Katana pick (or knife, depending where you come from) with a 0.012 inch thick feeler gauge stock. Good material is expensive, sometimes up to 20$ a pick if you want to use it multiple times, so you'll be better off buying your own feeler stock...
