Re: On dealing with confrontations
I agree with everything stated above (especially the Hermione reference). Personally, I always use the "evasion" method of fleeing as I usually assume that my pursuer is in better shape than I am for the sake of planning my escape.

Re: Strength
I don't really work out in the traditional sense, i.e. lifting weights, but parkour is probably one of the most relevant forms of exercise to opping, for obvious reasons. It is true that having to resort to sheer strength indicates somewhat of a lack of skill; however, the truth is that all oppers a...

I know this has been brought up before, but a lot of new members don't dig through old posts and they might offer new perspectives. The forum is also really slow right now. Re: Martial Arts Thread
I was very heavily involved in Taekwondo for several years, but it became more about points and rules and flashy kicks after a while than self defense. That being said, the conditioning involved definitely served me well in many areas, not necessarily limited to martial arts. And the sport does deve...

Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems to me that this would combine the strengths of solid black and camo. Looks pretty epic too (I know, I know, you're not supposed to be seen anyway).

Re: Winter Gear
I like winter for opping more so than summer, as it is more comfortable to cover up your skin. A face mask, long pants, long sleeve shirt, hood, and boots are pretty miserable during the summer. Where I live, there is never excessive snow, so it is usually easy to conceal tracks somehow. The nights ...

Zemgear shoes
I know a lot of oppers like tabi for their flexibility and tactile feedback, I thought these looked pretty neat. Skimming through the reviews, they are not very durable, but seem like good opping shoes as far as stealth is concerned.

The best thing to prevent any sort of bug problems is to wear longer clothing. Also, to prevent tick bites you should cover your head (you should already be doing that).

Technically, she could work for a hunting equipment supply co. and her work clothes could be camouflage. Also, in case you haven't seen the post on camo v. solids, the skill of an opper is more crucial than their attire.

Well, theoretically, you could redirect the wires. But most modern systems also have voltage meters, so that would be extremely difficult.
Edit: You said you would this when the alarm was disabled so I guess this wouldn't really apply.

I wouldn't mess with disabling the hardware. There are hundreds of possibilities as to what goodies you'll find once you cut a wire or unplug a cord. It is almost always simpler and more effective to just watch over someone's shoulder as they type in the code. Or intercept messages that include the ...

Re: observation of the unsuspecting human.
I have been an avid climber since I could walk, and this never ceases to make me laugh(silently of course). Once I was literally hanging from a tree over someone's car as they were exiting it (my feet were probably a meter or two above their roof), and they just kept walking. As a general rule, I do...

Re: Thoughts on Padlock Shims
Along the lines of not attacking the lock itself... If you don't have any luck with picking or using a shim, then ignore the lock completely. Even with a 200$ top notch lock, often there will be a thin and weak, even rusting hasp to which the lock is attached. You can often just use tin snips, or an...

Stealth has been natural for me since I was a child, I was inspired by my cat. It would always sneak up on me and when I turned around I would freak out. Anyway, this community is teaching me more in-depth techniques and exposing me to the style of others, but I have always been fairly stealthy.

Zerg
I am known as Zerg. I stumbled upon Night Ops while I was perusing the totse archive, although I suppose I have been opping for a while without defining it as such... My main strength is in climbing structures, and stealth in general. That's about it.
