There’s a lot of good discussion in this thread, so I suppose for the love of night ops I’ll log in and add my $0.02. I’m going to echo the idea that a more generic “stealth” community of some sort would be great, provided it has good terms of service and a decent admin/mod team to keep the Bad Idea...

Re: Night Ops Guide - We need a bigger one.
I'm currently working on a pretty large guide myself, covering what I believe are the basic elements of night opping. It'll basically read like a compendium of night ops skills and the theory behind them, organized by which "element of opping" they fall into. These elements include Gear, Awareness, ...
Re: Knife
The pentagon has a seriously grippy handle, and I have never had my hand slip down towards the blade. I have used the knife covered in water, dirt, and mud, and this really hasn't been an issue. Lockpicks - What you need to get started
This is a quick write up for folks in the US looking to get started with picking locks. There has been plenty written about "how" to pick locks, but not a whole lot about which tools a beginner should buy. Picking locks can be somewhat intimidating for the uninitiated, so I figured I'd post this qui...

I started doing it a couple years before I ever heard the term "night ops". Sneaking out and exploring just for the fun of being stealthy seemed natural to me as a child. Eventually I stumbled across the "night ops" threads on &totse, and discovered that my hobby had both a name and an active commun...

How about a non-contact voltage detector? They can be invaluable when you're scouting for alarms, or checking to see if an old building still has power running to it. Yoi can even get them with "silent" modes that make no noise when they detect electricity.

I've carried my gear several different ways, and I always go back to the gear belt. It's pretty easy to find pouches that stay in place and fit your gear perfectly. The only time I'll stick something in a pocket is when it's sized very similarly to the dimensions of the pocket, won't shift around wh...

I've noticed this too, lately. It seems like there have been either a few users or bots that have been sitting in the chat for hours or days at a time, just "monitoring" the conversations. I'd support the idea of a 30 minute timeout, or something along those lines.

Doesn't matter if they accurately remember the intruder wearing Multicam BDUs, 5.11 Tactical Boots and a Guy Fawkes mask, just as long as they don't see your face. Agreed. Opping gear is clothing meant to hide you and enhance your stealthiness. It doesn't matter if you're seen in it more than once,...
