I can think of many uses for such a tool.
If it is not traceable and uses Google earth you can count me in for (an attempt at) the build.
I need a good GPS and the price sounds right.

The reason for my extended leave.
Hello NightOps! I am Rex. I can be found here before 2010 (and some &TOTSE nighops threads) by other names, but I come back this time simply as Rex. Rex may not be a cool name, but it's a name that at least gives me the most recent credibility of who I am. So here I am as Rex. Due to a threat in OP-...

Re: Any old timers here 40+ ?
I'm just over here picturing blacked out Rascal scooters and hopping fences using tactical canes as climbing devices. Art of Night Ops: "Reducing glare from bifocals" I laugh, but the day is coming. Blacked out scooters may be a stretch, but a tactical cane/staff could come in handy at any age. I'd...

Re: Any old timers here 40+ ?
I know you are teasing Xanatos, but flexibility is really important at any age, so here's my take on it: I intend to remain flexible. Now my body going along with my plans might be a different story. Stretches are the key to flexibility. One such stretch is placing your feet against a wall and leani...

Seeing how i'm just under half your age I don't see how you do it.
My joints creaking make more noise than my footsteps now days.

Re: The FLIR Threat
Then some type of mylar would be a good thing to carry. Maybe one of those fire shields that firemen carry when they work forest fires could work. They deploy the shield and get under it. Probably expensive though. Real expensive, I'd guess. But wrapping oneself in a heavy mylar in combination of be...

Any old timers here 40+ ?
Just like the title says: Any old timers here 40+ ? I will be eligible for Senior Citizen Discounts before too long. Just curious about how many other old timers are here. I already know there's a few of us over 40 here, and soon we'll be discussing how to modify our techniques to better fit out abi...

Re: My sweet little first DIY-BDU
The slight tie-dye effect, although accidental, might actually help you to blend in better.
I would like to be able to duplicate those patterns.
Great Job! especially for the first time.
I've dye darkened gear numerous times in the past, but have never achieved results that good.

Re: What would you do if...?
Several years ago, heck...maybe even as little as 4 years ago I would have answered differently. I would been all up for changing plans and observing the other oppers in action. Today I figure that if they don't sense my presence, and they appear to have not seen me, then I might as well continue on...

Re: What would you do if...?
Question is pretty simple. What would you do if you were on an op and you saw another person that was obviously "Opping" as well. You know right where they are or where they are heading and they have no idea you exist. Nothing concerning anyone else has happened. It's just you, them, and the night....

Re: Overcoming "Veteran's Paranoia"
I left the site for nearly 3 years over "Veteran's Paranoia" or the "they know" syndrome. Except for me it was more of a "they will know" paranoia. And that's just what it is.. It's paranoia. This paranoia exhibits itself in different ways with different people. Even though I quit posting, I didn't ...

Re: The FLIR Threat
This: My best advice would be to identify which direction it's coming from and get behind something solid until it passes... Xanatos gives you some great advice here. The only thing I can add is: I don't think I'd rely upon hiding in the bushes. Your going to need some some real cover... Under a bri...

A.B.C.s Of Visible Invisibility
This is still in the works and will become somewhat in-depth article over time. Please feel free to comment and ask questions as this might help me to better explain the techniques to others. There exists an under-discussed art in the field of Nighttime Operations. This is the art of remaining Visi...

Re: Cameras
Camera for Dares? I will pass on buying a new camera for dares. If anything can't be photographed with what I already have then you'll just have to assume that I don't have the ability. Questions: 1: If I play Midnight Electrician after dark, it will be done from a distance. Wouldn't make any sense...
I'm Back
I'm not exactly new here, but had to run a wipe info a while back.
Needless to say all login info from my old account is now gone.
Some of you may recognize me, many will not.
I creep quietly through the shadows and sprint
like a streak through the light. I remain a blur.
