Re: My Most Basic Gear

I have one of those red light filters on my light and I must say it does preserve your night vision better than a normal light... But mine's only for a 'OMG I can't see jack shit' moment... :D

Building Upper Body Strength

Anyone have any tips? I'm generally quite fit but I find myself sometimes struggling to pull myself up ledges / lift heavy objects as easily as I'd like...

What would one do to build strength in the arms etc.

There's no substitute for improvisation. Even the best plans can't anticipate everything. You'd better be able to roll with the punches.

Re: Unlocking those interior door locks

Ah it's good someone knows what I'm talking about... :D - one of the places I was in had them almost everywhere inside the building - pain in the ass much, but at least they weren't proper locks that I would have to pick...

Unlocking those interior door locks

The locks on some doors inside buildings (where you press a button on the doorknob to lock it) can be easily unlocked... get a coin or similar width object and place it in the small strip on the outside of the doors knob. Then turn it and wa-la! I'll post pics soon to show what I'm talking bout :D

Re: What do you guys do the day before an op?

If the op is serious, (not just a random excursion) I review my intel, clean my gear and just generally prepare for the mission... Hydrate properly, eat a small meal a few hours beforehand and by then, you're ready to head off.

Re: Hidding places of my gear at my parents' house?

I hide small bits of my kit in various technology related boxes. My parents have yet to find it, or even move the boxes for that matter. Clothes are easy to explain... It's funny, my mom threw away a can filled with a thermite mixture cause she thought it was rubbish... :x

Re: Double-edged or Single?

I've always been a single edge guy, I guess just because I try to use my knife as a tool most of the time. More of a camper/survivor mentality than that of a fighting one. A single edge actually has plenty of pros to it, hollow ground knives have way more chopping power and are capable of being muc...
