If you're browsing a VERY suspicious website or doing dark web shit, then yeah, cover your arse. If you're watching a fucking Youtube video on NVGs, who cares? There's loads of gun-related & tactical content on Youtube that's SFW. Even channels like Lockpicking Lawyer are fairly innocuous. So long a...

I've got one that's water & shock-proof, has an 3-second illumination, alarm, countdown timer and compass. Only cost like $70 too. Lots of neat features that could come in handy for an op.

I've got some sets of urban camo that work rather well in my area, especially blending into concrete or gravel. Construction sites are replete with shades of grey and sometimes solid black isn't the best option.

I'm against using anything with a built-in GPS device, although it is possible to remove the properties of photo & video files so nobody can track when, where or on what device it was shot on. And while the IR feature on camcorders can be handy, I can attest trying to perform an op while recording w...

I use M&M/Skittles tubes for my metsu-bishi (blinding powder) since they're a lot easier to get a hold of (who uses film these days?), have greater volume and the pop-tops are easier to use one-handed. You can find basically anything on Ebay or Amazon. Otherwise I'm sure there's some specialty store that sells tactical gear in the UK, or an army surplus shop (I get most of my gear through there). Airsoft/paintball shops are also viable for camouflage & other gear. Varusteleka is another great webs...

A singular volume about Night Ops would be a pretty big encyclopaedia. The Way of the Shadow (TWOTS) is a comprehensive guide to what we now call "Night Ops", however it is very dated and could do with an updated version. The format is already there, but it's till quite a task to undertake though.

That's actually a baller setup. Cheap & easy too. My only concern is the velcro straps - if you're in close proximity to someone (or something, like a guard dog) when swapping footwear, the straps will make a fair bit of noise.

My quietest opping footwear are diving boots or aqua shoes (aqua shoes being cheaper & easier to get). The harder part will be masking all the equipment so it doesn't stand out as a mobile FOB. Not to mention if people notice the same vehicle parked near all these recent burglaries, it tends to narrow down the list of suspects.

Another good thing about flip-phones is the keypad is entirely covered, so you're not gonna accidentally pocket-dial someone. They're also incredibly cheap and rather undesirable by most people, so you're less likely to get mugged over it compared to the latest iPhone model.

Take into account the type of surface you're walking on too. While overextending your steps may lead to poor balance, it's also useful for spreading your weight when moving across surfaces like wooden floorboards, scaffolding or ice. The more you spread your weight out, the less likely it is to creak.
