Lockpicks are more ubiquitous than you'd think. They're readily available on sites like Amazon or Ebay, or you can find a local locksmith or somebody who sells locksmithing supplies. I picked up a new EDC pick set (with wrench) and a practise lock from a fair recently.

Re: Hello everybody.

Don't carry unnecessary gear. The more you bring, the more you have to lose and the more noise you'll make. When working in groups, set up a covert system of communication and move in a loose formation (point man, tail-end-Charlie, etc). It's easy to lose each other in the dark. Don't panic. You'll ...

It's less about having people track your devices so much as dropping personal effects in the AO. If I accidentally lose a piece of gear I want it to be easily replaceable and not have it traced back to me.

Have you ever opped with all 5 of your friends at once? How do you guys communicate & coordinate while remaining stealthy? It took us a few ops during NOPCON to get things down-pat.

I do love the idea, especially the collapsible version. Reminds me of a medieval billhook (used to dismount enemy cavalry). I've got a grappling hook with some rope that, while more compact, can be trickier to deploy than what's essentially a stick. Have you used the hook staff to scale anything bef...

Is it dependent on the filetype? Maybe you can watch .mp4 but not .webm files?

Also, the Chat Lounge wasn't loading properly for me a couple of days ago. I thought it was a temporary problem but it's still not loading for me:

I'm kind of against adding any kind of points system to night ops as it defeats the purpose of what we do here. Healthy competition is okay, as long as you're trying to better yourself instead of out-perform others.

Life gets busy for all of us. I myself work nights and usually don't get home until fuck o'clock in the morning, when it's too late to op. If you ever get a day/night off and don't feel motivated to go on an op, just go for a walk instead. Breathe in the night, take in the sound of stillness, remind...

Making bo-shuriken out of steel plate could certainly work, sort of like a double-ended knife. You can carry more at once due to their flatter profile and maybe even throw multiple at a time, although they may be harder to stabilise due to their asymmetric profile as opposed to cylindrical nails, so...

Rocks tend to bounce off their target, and unless you twat the sucker right in the face with it they'll just get pissed off rather than staggered. With a shuriken, if it sticks, they'll have a bit of a panic in trying to remove it and will think twice before resuming the chase. Still wouldn't advise...

Most of my targets are within areas I can discern easily with the naked eye, but for longer range ops or when I need to see finer details I sometimes carry a 10x monocular. It's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed (so to speak) but being stainless steel it's easy to re-sharpen. The black finish is also surprisingly durable and so is the low-profile sheath. The rubberised handle is also extremely comfortable too and actually makes a great hammer for bump keys.
