Just an idea.

Given the sensitive nature of the sub-forum "Bad Ideas" perhaps it should only be available to those who have documented a night op first.

Also, could the profanity filter be changed from:

Code: Select all

[ code]http://***********[/ code]
To:

Code: Select all

http://anonym.to/?http://********
This allows click able links while still hiding referrer information.

If possible, could this website run as a hidden service on the tor network?
As a TOR user I am logged out of the forum every few pages and it becomes very annoying.

Also, it would protect users who use TOR from subpoenas (should you ever get any.).

A light colored style would be nice too.

Your point about BI makes sense, but it's difficult to keep track of who has posted an op and who hasn't - none of the mods/admins have enough time have enough free time to watch every post. Anyway, &TOTSE had an "open" BI, forum, and we try to follow the Temple's lead where possible.

You don't need to use code tags for URLs - the forum has a mod installed which automatically converts clickable links to anonym.to. For example, if you click this link:

http://www.google.com

it will redirect you to http://anonym.to/?http://www.google.com even though it doesn't look like it in the post text.

I'm not really familiar with TOR - I know approximately how it works, but not enough to set up a TOR-based website. We experimented with running a "freesite" on Freenet, but that protocol didn't prove to be popular enough to be practical.

Can't promise anything in terms of a light theme. A site redesign is coming, though, maybe you'll find it nicer to use.

I like the dark theme, makes it easier on the eyes when browsing in the dark. Also helps preserve nightvision when one is about to head out on an op.

Paranoid Radio must not have spent a lot of time online from 1990-2000. This IS the color of the internet.
