Which knife should I get?
I'm planning on buying a new knife, as I currently use the tiny one on my multi-tool. I have picked out four that I'm interested in:
1. Kershaw Blackout 1550: http://www.kershawknives.com/productdet ... nd=kershaw
2. Benchmade Mini-Nitrous Stryker: http://www.benchmade.com/products/907
3. SOG Flash II: http://sogknives.com/store/TFSA-98.html
4. Smith & Wesson SWAT: http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/ ... rrorView_N

Looks like the best to me, and since its black it wont give off much of a reflection.

I'm leaning strongly towards the SOG Flash II. It's the sexyest/ most tacticool.

I'm thinking the SOG.
(I like it the best out of those options.)
Also looks like it would fit my hand nicely.

I didn't shop the models, but one of the links had a knife with a silver blade.

Somebody here got a black tanto folder a while ago made by Gerber. It had a decently sized blade, was reasonably cheap and very sharp out of the box. Also black. Search around the Gear thread for the appropriate topic.

I don't like Gerber. Not as good quality as Benchmade, Kershaw, or SOG.Xanatos wrote:Somebody here got a black tanto folder a while ago made by Gerber. I'm not much of a knife carrier, but I'd probably get that one

No, it's not assisted opening. The knife is mainly for self defense, as you run into sooooo many drunk redneck "gangsters" in my area. I'm hoping that the fast flickout will help scare them off, and pump me up/make me feel badass.

But that Gerber one is good for general carry or for quick NOs. It's cheap as well, so it's easy to replace.

Yeah, it is pretty cheap at $7, but still opens pretty fast.

When you get it, modify it to include a wave feature... Saved my ass from falling several times.
But, for a dedicated NO Blade, a Fixed is the only way to go, IMO

I'm going with the SOG Flash II. The hardware store near me has it, so I don't have to get it online. You probably have to be over 18, so I'll have to put on some makeup and a bald wig. And find a cane.

Get whatever you think you'll be most comfortable carrying. This isn't the military, if something breaks you can replace it as soon as you want. Knives aren't essential in night ops E&E so a breakage shouldn't cause you trouble. I'm personally not a fan of any of them, for what it's worth.

As for the knife choices, I say go big or go home. Get a benchmade, Combative edge or the like.
