I would also be willing to pay a piece of that to move it to a more secure server.

Haven't heard of them before but that Diamond cutting wire looks like it could be useful.

Re: Rough area
I only have firearm training so my bias could be as simple as that. However, regardless of how much hand to hand training I recieve over the years I wouldn't mess around with someone wielding a knife let alone pointing a gun at me. I've been in this type of situation where I did everything I could n...

Re: Rough area
The best post I think was Lucian Neo's first one, about different kinds of self defence weapons - and bearing in mind what Therin said; being able to use them effectively. Additionally, training makes you confident, confidence is often enough to stop any trouble before it occurs. Not always, but of...

Re: Rough area
How about a cross bow then, it's quiet, doesn't leave much of a trace, and can double as a really long knife for cqb, hahaha And also kills people. I have made my own bow and cross bow. Crossbows are heavy and bulky and will easily tire you. And with it being bulky it would be highly in-practical. ...

Re: The Uses of Paracord - Safety and Really Awesome Uses
Agreed, para cord is not meant for climbing and is incaple of holding any type of dynamic fall or stopping motion. Also, as loli stated any type of knot be it alpine butterfly, square, figure 8, or double fisherman can drastrically reduce the strength of said rope or cord. Para cord is fine for susp...

Re: Badges
Apart from badges, what ways would you want to use for displaying your dare ops? I'll throw out some random ideas, We could have a banner display somewhere on the forum showcasing the best picture taken during an op each month. You could assign a point value to each particular dare op and then have...

Re: Your usual distance?
My typical walking distance is around 2 miles but it depends heavily on where I can inconspicuously park my car. As far as biking to an AO, that can be anywhere from 4 to 20 miles. The furthest I’ve ever walked during an op would be around 5 miles, likewise for biking.

Any idea how to put gifs or jpegs in the signature area then? I would like to design a few for myself and if it picked up between the other members it would be cool too. I understand where you're coming from Xanatos but I don't think anyone is going to put themselves on the line because of a little ...

Badges
Something that I've been thinking about for a while now, implementing badges/medals/awards. They could be located near a person’s signature or likewise anywhere that has room. I think that showcasing badges for completed OPs in the dare thread would bring each person a little more recognition that...

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KFZSJQ/ref=oss_product I've always thought having a wireless camera with a handheld monitor to be a good idea so I finally decided to order one and test it out in the field. The concept is simple, place the camera in your blind spot to make sure nothing unexpecte...

You're completely right about CS gas grenades being useless in open areas but I can't seeing it hurting your case if you drop one behind you or set one up for someone trying to run you down. I think flash bangs would suite these purposes far better though.

I can, imagine it that is, it's happened to me 3 times this winter alone. It's great that it's so bright and quiet outside but the snow is really starting to get on my nerves. It's also impassable at the moment since the snow is over 2 feet deep everywhere within 50 miles.

Scuba Dry Suit
We all know the implications of being able to get around PIR motion detectors but I have yet to be satisfied with any of the common solututions. Mylar shielding is a little to "sketchy" in my opinion since you don't have much room for error, if you get to close to the sensor and accidently block a d...

Re: Paranoia and Fear of Darkness
Afraid, hell nooooo, Night doesn't come soon enough in my opinion. I’ve gotten so used to night being an effective tool that I get mad I can’t pull off the same stuff during the day. Course, I don’t really get scared of much these days, either paranoid or deeply concentrated on the task at han...
